MUNICH (dpa-AFX) – In the wave of lawsuits about the costs of restaurants that had to close due to the corona pandemic, another host has won against his insurance. The district court Munich I awarded the restaurant Emmeramsmühle a good 427,000 euros on Thursday. This gave way to the host’s lawsuit against the liability insurance company.
The insurance company refused to pay. The court now found, however, that the clause with which it wanted to restrict its scope of services was non-transparent and ineffective. The decision is not yet final.
It was only on Wednesday that the landlord of the well-known restaurant Paulaner am Nockherberg and Allianz reached an out-of-court settlement in a similar lawsuit. In another case, the court has already ruled in favor of another host. So far, 88 lawsuits relating to business closure insurance have been received at the Munich I Regional Court alone./ruc/DP/jha
