In the footage, the cleaner appears, begging the clerk to leave his trolley, which was not his property, and begs him saying: “I swear, by God Almighty, I’m going.. I’m in my current state.. By God, I didn’t break my fast this morning.” The employee showed no reaction except that he films the trolley, talks on the phone, pushes and insults the worker.
Sad incident
For his part, Hamada Al-Rifai, the photographer of the incident, confirmed that he did not intervene to save the worker, and preferred to film the footage until it reaches the officials and this employee is held responsible.
He told Al-Arabiya.net that the incident occurred on Salah Salem Street in Port Said’s eastern district, and that the worker is known in the area for collecting garbage and plastics to earn a halal living for himself and his family members, pointing out that the clerk was not satisfied with taking the cart, but rather beat the worker before he even started shooting.
