The Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in August-September 2022 monitored the significance of anniversaries for the population of the country. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire survey in Minsk, regional cities, some regional centers and villages. About 1.8 thousand people took part in it. Results published in May 2023.
According to the results of the study, it turned out that about 74.7% of respondents singled out Easter as the most significant holiday or memorable date. 72.1% of respondents also singled out the New Year, 71.6% – Christmas, 57% – All Souls’ Day (Radunitsa), 54.9% – International Women’s Day. When answering, you could select multiple options.
According to the results of the study, Victory Day turned out to be the most significant public holiday. It was singled out by 81.7% of the respondents. The top 3 also included the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (53.4%) and the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus (20.5%).
