Instead of a traffic light, we will be guarded by PES. He will say when he can go to school and restaurant

The Czech Republic should be guarded against coronavirus by a system called PES, which is abbreviated as an anti-epidemic system. It is intended to help citizens become familiar with the measures currently in force with regard to the degree of risk of infection.

“The system should have a name to refer to something specific. So we thought about what an acronym he might have. In the end, we liked the acronym invented by Dr. Přibylová from Masaryk University the most. And I can now say that we will be guarded by the PES, “said Minister Jan Blatný, adding that he believes that the system will help the Czech Republic to go through the current situation with dignity.

In the end, the PES system should not consist of one table, as the minister talked about at the end of last week, but of two.

“We agreed that it would be impossible and confusing to want to cram everything into one table. That is why tables are prepared, or if you want matrices, in two levels, “Blatný explained.

The first table is supposed to be simple and the minister wants to make the usable version available during Tuesday.

“The table of the second level, which will elaborate the measures in detail at the level of individual ministries that will be affected, should be completed by Friday,” added Jan Blatný.

As he said last week, for example, it can be read from the table that if the epidemic situation is at level 4, then restaurants can only offer takeaway food. When it drops to three, restaurants can operate under certain conditions.

According to the Minister, the PES system should be further developed over time and respond to a specific situation. “Our goal is for it to be used as set by the end of the year, and possibly to be modified in the future,” the Minister of Health added at a press conference on Monday.
