Born of an unknown father, the singer was born by his mother, Madeleine Lenormand, in the maternity ward of the Château de Bénouville. At the time, the mother of Gérard Lenorman was only 16 years old, which explains why she went to an establishment where nuns welcomed young women in difficulty.
