A bunch Ormas raided the leasing office located in South Tambung, Bekasi Regency. The commotion prompted the police to fire warning shots.
Bekasi Police Chief Kombes B Twedi Aditya Bennyhadi said the incident occurred on Friday (10/2), around 13.05. The case began when one of the mass organizations wanted to pay installments at the leasing office.
After that, an argument occurred between the members of the mass organization and the leasing officer which led to the beating of the members of the mass organization.
“So it’s not because of the debt collector, the point is that it’s no longer the process of taking goods. Again the process of paying the installments, there’s a verbal squabble in the office. Then suddenly I don’t know what happened, in the end he said the mass organization was beaten,” said Twedi, Friday (10 /2/2023).
Unacceptable, the member of the mass organization told this to his friends. Not long after, dozens of members of the mass organization stormed the office causing a riot.
“Keep calling his friends. Yes, because of the argument, he said he was beaten and then he informed his friends. Tens of his friends came,” he said.
Warning Shots Fire Policy
The police had asked the masses not to be anarchists. Because they were ignored, finally his party was forced to fire warning shots to intervene.
“That was a warning shot by the police because the police chief and members had warned not to do any damage, but they turned the vehicle around and finally a discretionary police officer fired a gun to drive the crowd back,” said Twedi.
As a result of mass anarchism, tails in acts of destruction. A total of four cars were damaged at the location.
“From the report, two cars belonged to leasing, two belonged to mass organizations. (The cars) were turned over, overturned, dropped to the side, dozens of people lifted them,” he explained.
