A little more than a month after Apple officially presented iOS 17, the public beta version of the new software version became available in the past few days, which Apple no longer offers only to application developers.
Regardless, of course, the point remains the same: the software is currently not stable, its installation is not recommended for devices used on a daily basis – the applications can crash at any time, and the operating time can be worse due to non-optimization.
As previously reported by Index, iOS 17 brings innovations in many areas, but several of the previously rumored developments were left out of the software version that will be released this fall. Among other things, Apple updated the Phone, Messages and FaceTime apps, but the lock screen also received new features. We wrote in more detail in this article about exactly which functions come to iPhones with the new version.
Here’s how to install it
With iOS 16, Apple completely overhauled how you can participate in beta testing. Previously, you had to install profiles for this, but now you don’t need to.
If you want to try iOS 17 before the official release, just open the Settingsthen that generaland after that a Software update tap on the menu item. Here is the Beta updates under the menu item iOS 17 Public Beta option, after which the update can be downloaded.
It is important that you make a backup before installation, because you will only be able to restore to iOS 16 with its help.
