Step 1: Make a backup first

  6. Choose APFS as the structure if prompted.

Step 3: Install beta profile

You need a beta profile to install betas. The official route is via Apple’s Developer portal.

  1. Go to developer.apple.com and click Discover.
  2. Click at the top of the screen macOS.

  4. Log in with your developer account.
  5. Scroll down and click the Install Profile button.

  1. Wait for the download to succeed and click macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.dmg
  2. Double click on this file and extract it.
  3. Install macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.pkg to the hard disk. You don’t have to choose the partition just yet.

When System Preferences has searched for and shows an update, click Update to install it. Then click Get on and agree to the terms.

  1. When you need to choose a disk, choose the created partition.

Start from other disk

If you created macOS Big Sur on a new partition, here’s how to change the startup disk:

  1. click on > System Preferences> Startup Disk
  2. Click on the padlock at the bottom left.
  3. Enter your system password and click OK.
  4. Choose the drive you are for macOS Created Big Sur.
  5. click on Restart.
