In 2022, Instagram invested heavily in the Reels video feature. Perhaps a little too much when many users began to criticize Instagram for no longer being Instagram but some kind of copy of the competitor Tiktok.
Now Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri says during a Q&A session with users that Instagram showed users too many videos last year, reports The Verge.
“I think we over-focused on video in 2022 and pushed rankings too much and simply showed too many videos and not enough photos.
According to Adam Mosseri, Instagram is now working on finding a better balance between photos and videos on the service and says it is well on its way to success.
“Things like how often someone likes an image versus a video and how often someone comments on images versus video are now about the same,” says Adam Mosseri.
