Instagram will force all videos under 15 minutes to be Reels

Instagram is posting new stuff practically every dayand today’s announcement has to do with Reels again, something that was born as a crude copy of what TikTok is todaybut with this change it could redefine itself and try to eliminate redundancies in the application.

as we can read on Instagram blogall videos under 15 minutes will be posted as Reels, and while this will not affect videos that are already posted to the app, this is definitely a serious attempt to increase the popularity of Reels, that they have already taken control of the application as far as Instagram’s intentions are concerned.

However, only Reels shorter than 90 seconds will have the discovery benefits that Instagram provides to its users, so while long videos will still be called Reels, will operate under a slightly different set of rules.

Templates have also been added, as well as the possibility of creating dual videos that show the image of the rear camera in a main plane, while the front camera shows our reaction in a smaller box.
