APPARENTLY Instagram had been down for some time ago. When there is a problem with the service, users are always surprised and there is a lot of speculation because there is no prior notification.
To that end, Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that will alert users when the service is experiencing major technical difficulties.
This warning will appear in the user’s Activity Feed notification when people start to get confused and look for answers to what happened to the Instagram service, as quoted from The Verge, Thursday (14/10/2021).
In other words, when system apps experience a serious and prolonged downturn, as they did last week, a notification will appear in the Activity Feed section.
Instagram says it is testing the feature in the US for the next few months and may roll out more widely if it finds it helpful.
This is a reasonable feature, considering the mess it causes when their service crashes.
When Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram are down, people often wonder if something is wrong with their connection, internet, or account.
A little notification telling the user, “Don’t worry, it’s not you, it’s us” might clear up a lot of confusion in the future.
