Instagram Tests New Feature: Creating Stickers from User Photos for Stories and Reels

Instagram has begun testing a function that allows crear ‘stickers’ automatically from user photosto add them directly as an element in the stories or in the ‘reels’, that can be placed on top of other background content.

The social network owned by Meta already has different options to use ‘stickers’ or stickers generated by the application in stories, as well as other customization functions such as ‘GIFs’ or personalized avatar stickers. These elements allow users to customize their posts.

Now the company continues to roll out new features to generate personalized content in stories and short-form videos ‘reels’ with the possibility of creating ‘stickers’ from users’ photographs.

In this sense, Instagram has commented that it is testing this possibility, with which users will be able to insert these elements in their Stories or in the ‘reels’as announced by the CEO of the platform, Adam Mosseri, on his Instagram channel.

For create the ‘sticker’ in the storiesas shown in an example video shared by Mosseri, users will need to open the Option menu and click on the new create functionwhich appears accompanied by a icon with scissors.

Afterwards, all you have to do is choose the image with which you want to create the ‘sticker’ of the reel and, automatically afterwards, the ‘app’ will start creating the sticker focusing on some prominent element of the photo.

Once the process is finished, all you have to do is place the ‘sticker’ in the story, which will be displayed as an element that can be placed on other content. “We are eager to see people’s creativity,” said Mosseri, manager.
