Temporary messages are basically messages that self-destruct after ‘x time’ after sending its. In the case of Instagram, they allowed us to send photos and videos with the certainty that they were going to be eliminated after the temporary period that we had previously assigned to them.

In addition, Instagram included quite useful functionality in its temporary and private messages: the application warned you if the other person had taken a screenshot of the conversation. This tried to avoid that those messages with expiration time, or those that we did not intend to have a second viewing, remain stored on the telephone of our interlocutors.

And it is that, speaking of the elephant in the room, this series of messages are sent in most of the occasions to send risque images. This, logically, compromises the privacy of Instagram users, hence the special care that must be taken with this type of virtual interactions.
