Instagram again pampering its users by launching various new features for Reels. In total, there are seven new features and updates for Instagram Reels that will become Instagram’s weapon to compete with TikTok.
Of the seven new features, the main update is that Instagram will turn all videos shorter than 15 minutes into reels. However, this change will not apply to previously uploaded videos.
If an Instagram user uploads a video that is less than 90 seconds long and has a public account, the video that now reels will be recommended by Instagram’s algorithm and can be seen by more people.

Once a user uploads video reels, other users can create Remix content or use the original audio for the video content. But don’t worry, if your Instagram account is private, the reels that you created will only be visible to your followers.

This feature will roll out in the next few weeks, and Instagram will also bring together all the videos and reels under one tab in the Instagram app, as quoted from TechCrunchSunday (24/7/2022).
In addition to these changes, Instagram has also released various features to help users and creators create more interesting reel content, namely:
Dual: Instagram users can record videos using the front camera and rear camera simultaneously. For example, when users record a video of a scene using the rear camera, they can record their reaction with the front camera.
Templates: Instagram users can now explore various video templates when opening the Reels camera and use those templates to create their videos. So there is no need to think about the concept of video anymore because there are already various formats to choose from.

Remix for photos: Remix is an Instagram Reels feature that’s similar to TikTok Duet. With this new feature, Instagram users can create Remix videos using public photos.
New Remix Layout: Remix content will also look more creative with the new layout. Through this feature, users Instagram can choose between green screen, vertical or horizontal split-screen, or picture-in-picture.
Add clips: If Remix videos are usually shown side by side with the original video, this feature allows Instagram users to add clips after the original video is played so that they look sequential.
