The application is named Reels and has been released in several countries and will be released in the United States (US) next month. But, will this application be as popular as TikTok? The answer is hard to know, but Instagram itself is trying to do what they can to make the application a success.
According to the news The Wall Street Journal, Instagram gives money to TikTok creators to try to attract them to the Reels platform. The company is said to have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay the creators. Instagram is willing to give more money to creators who are willing to create exclusive content for Reels.
For those who don’t want to move exclusively, Instagram is said to ask these creators to create content to be uploaded to Reels first. After that, the content can be uploaded to other platforms, write UbergizmoWednesday (7/29). Competing services are nothing new. Now is the right time for Instagram to release Reels.
News previously appeared that the US government was considering blocking TikTok because of tense relations between the US and China. The parent company TikTok itself comes from China. If the US government really blocks the application, there will be a huge gap in the market that was previously filled with TikTok. Reels can be an alternative to fill that gap.
