Instagram is working on a new iOS widget to allow users to easily switch between accounts – Marseille News

Instagram appears to be working on a new feature for its iOS users. This time, the social network wants to implement a new home screen widget to allow users to easily switch between accounts if they have two or more profiles signed in to the same device.

The new feature was first revealed by developer Alessandro Paluzzi, known for revealing features hidden in Facebook-owned apps.

As Paluzzi has shown, the new widget is only offered in medium size and can display up to four different Instagram accounts. While the developer hasn’t shared more details, users will likely be able to access one of the accounts by simply tapping on it in the widget.

Of course, as this is still under development, the final version of the widget could be available in more sizes and with other layout options. It’s also possible that Instagram will remove the new widget even before making it public, although at this point it seems unlikely.

Currently, users who have two or more Instagram accounts connected to the same device must first open the Instagram app and then tap and hold the profile icon to display the account menu. By double-tapping the profile icon, you can also easily switch between accounts.

Last month, Paluzzi revealed that Instagram is also working on a new feature called “Exclusive Stories,” which will work the same as Close Friends but is available to creators who want to sell exclusive content. This is likely a response to the huge success of the OnlyFans platform and Twitter’s Super Follow, which will arrive later this year with the same approach. Instagram later confirmed that it was indeed working on this new feature.
