Instagram is testing a sticker for posts shared in Stories

To resolve the problem of posts split into stories that divides its users, Instagram will launch a new test, this time in the form of a sticker.

For the past few months, Instagram has been trying to respond to the problem of posts re-shared as a story. This feature elicits a lot of mixed reactions, as some users find that reshared posts take up too much space in stories, and lead to a form of content duplication.

A sticker to better visualize the posts distributed in story

Discovered last month by the application researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, a new sticker baptized Reshare (repartage) should make its appearance on Instagram.

The functionality should allow users to share their favorite posts, and find them from the sticker, choosing from 3 defined post categories:

  • those you liked,
  • your own posts,
  • those that have been registered.

When the stickers will be officially launched for testing, users who wish to share story posts will be notified of the following message: “To add this to your story, use the new re-share sticker that we are testing in the stories. »

The methods of displaying posts in the stories are not yet known, but the main goal of the process will be to highlight that it is a redistribution, always with the aim of reducing the duplication of content.

No date has been announced for the launch of the testing phase of this feature.

Several other solutions tested beforehand by Instagram

To resolve this concern for re-sharing, Instagram had already tried several solutions, such as: making it impossible to “re-share” story posts (last January), or even adding a label. Post reshared at the top left of the stories (last March).

None of these features are final, and the social network continues to work on the best solution to adopt.
