Meta is certainly not afraid to copy Snapchat, quite the opposite. After “writing” stories of it years ago, that is, stories from photos or videos available only 24 hours after publication, it is now considering taking on another interesting function. More precisely, we are talking about Snap Map, that is, a map that shows you the location of your friends as well as their publications.
A copy of Snap Map is expected to be sent to Instagram in the future under the name Friend Map. Its tests were recently confirmed by Meta’s spokesperson, saying that the new product is currently being tested by a small group of users before being extended to a larger scale. The usability of Friend Map should then be more or less the same as in the case of the Snapchat version. Thus, users will be able to share your location with a photo or video, thanks to which your friends or the people in general with whom you share the thing will be able to see exactly where you are. There will be the choice to share with all subscribers, as well as with close friends, as can already be done with Instagram Stories. However, it is still too early to predict how popular this new product will be.
