The Instagram platform is developing an artificial intelligence chatbot that it calls “AI Friend,” as shown in screenshots published by social media consultant Alessandro Paluzzi.
Screenshots show users being able to chat with the AI bot to answer questions, talk about any challenges, exchange ideas and more.
Users can specify the gender, age, race, and personality of the chatbot. The AI chatbot can be reserved, enthusiastic, creative, intelligent, or practical.
Users can also choose the interests of the chatbot to customize it greatly, as you determine the “AI friend’s” interests, personality, and the nature of his conversations, and options include animals, profession, education, entertainment, music, nature, and more.
Instagram allows users to specify avatars and names for the chatbot, and they can click a button within the chat window to start the conversation with the artificial intelligence.
“Instagram” is not the first platform to develop this feature, as other social platforms have launched chatbots with artificial intelligence and achieved mixed results. In February, Snapchat launched the “My AI” chatbot and faced controversy for launching it without including appropriate features to determine age. It was found that The chatbot chats with minors about topics like masking the smell of weed.
