Instagram added a Pronouns feature

Sharing photos and videos appli Instagram added a new feature called Pronouns which allows users to add up to 4 pronouns on their profile. The feature would allow users to address each other with pronouns that would be new to the Instagram platform. You have the option to display the pronoun publicly or to save the setting only for your followers. The feature has launched in some countries, but Instagram has yet to publish a list of countries where the feature is still available. He certainly intends to extend the functionality to his application in more countries.

Users for whom the feature is not available now can fill out a form to get it and submit it or just add the pronoun to their bio. The feature was present in some other apps before and even Facebook has a limited set of pronouns enabled.

The new feature comes in the wake of Facebook facing a coalition of 44 US attorneys general who are against its “Instagram for Kids” platform. Instagram for Kids will allow children under 13 to use Instagram, a proposal that has met resistance from attorneys general over mental health and privacy concerns, who the Facebook CEO urged Mark Zuckerberg not to launch it. From now on, a child under 13 can have their own Instagram account if that account is under supervision and is managed by a parent or guardian.
