Alexander Zverev admits he doesn’t expect to play his best tennis from the start, but remains confident he will find his best game soon. After undergoing knee surgery in the summer of 2016, Roger Federer returned to win the Australians Open 2017.
Rafael Nadal, who missed almost the entire second half of the 2021 season with a foot injury, won the Australian Open title early in the 2022 season.
Zverev, who performs in December, hopes to have a similar comeback process as Federer and Nadal have in the past.
