Cape Town: Indian player Jemima Rodrigues says that Virat Kohli is the inspiration for the victory against Pakistan in the Twenty20 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Jemima scored 53 runs off 38 balls and was the cornerstone of India’s victory.
“India-Pakistan matches are always special. Last year in Melbourne I saw Kohli hit 82 off 53 balls to win the match for India. It was exceptional batting. It inspired us,” said Jemima.
22-year-old Jemima came to the World Cup with concerns about her form. Jemima has scored above 30 just once in the previous 10 matches. However, Jemima partnered Richa Ghosh (31* off 20 balls) to lead India to a memorable victory.
