Inspector General Teddy Minahasa withdraws drug case files, police say

Jakarta

Former Police Chief of West Sumatra Inspector General Teddy Minahasa revoke the Statement on the Investigation Report (BAP) related to the drug case. What is Polda Metro Jaya’s response as a party investigating this case?

“It is the right of Mr. TM and the lawyer to withdraw the BAP, go ahead. No problem,” Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Narcotics Director Mukti Juharsa told detik comSunday (20/11/2022).

Mukti declared the revocation of the BAP Inspector General Teddy Minahasa it is not a problem for the investigators. Investigators still have more evidence.

“The police have more evidence, we still have 4 evidence,” Mukti said.

Mukti said revoking Teddy Minahasa’s BAP would not reverse the existing ruling. The legal process against Teddy Minahasa, currently a suspect, continues.

“The legal process is still ongoing,” he said.

Inspector General Teddy Minahasa withdraws BAP

Earlier, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa withdrew his statement in the Investigative Report (BAP) regarding the drug case. Teddy Minahasa withdrew his statement when he was questioned as a suspect and as a witness to AKBP suspects Doddy Prawiranegara and Linda.

This was conveyed by prosecutor Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, Hotman Paris. Hotman Paris said his client withdrew the initial dossier because the evidence – which he said was stolen – was still with the prosecutor.

“Today, Teddy Minahasa said in his BAP that he withdrew all BAPs as suspects, both the first and second BAPs, and also withdrew the BAPs that were given as witnesses for suspects Doddy and suspect Linda. Because all the evidence used as objects in this case the relationship with Teddy Minahasa was non-existent because the confiscated evidence in this case is still intact,” Hotman Paris said at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta on Friday (11/18/2022).

Hotman Paris said the 5 kilograms of methamphetamine evidence was still intact. The evidence – which according to the police was stolen – he admits – is in the hands of the attorney general’s office.

“There is something very new and this changes all the facts of the accident, namely that recently, after checking all the evidence that it was considered 5kg in circulation, it was still untouched by the prosecutor’s office as evidence in the trial of the defendant in Bukittinggi,” Hotman said in Paris.

The 5kg of evidence is known to be under investigation in a case involving Teddy Minahasa. Initially, the 5kg of crystal methamphetamine was suspected as narcotic evidence which had been shelved out of a total of 41.4kg of crystal meth following the disclosure of the case.

Teddy Minhasa allegedly giving orders to AKBP Doddy Prawiranegara as Bukittinggi Police Chief at that time to exchange 5kg of meth for alum. However, Hotman later claimed that the 5 kilograms of methamphetamine were intact and kept by the prosecutor as evidence in court.

“Of the approximately 39.5kg weighed, 5kg of evidence was still intact and was being retained by the prosecutor. 35kg had been destroyed. This means that the evidence found at Doddy’s house, Linda’s house, and what was circulated there is, it has absolutely nothing to do with Teddy Minahasa,” Hotman explained.

“It is suspected that they traded other goods that had nothing to do with Teddy Minahasa. There were other items that Teddy was unaware of,” he added.
