Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games to be released in the coming weeks, but the world may not be ready for what Insomniac has prepared, according to the director of sound design at PlayStation Studios.
In a new post shared on LinkedIn, Jeremy Vilott spoke about the next installment in the series, saying that he’s not sure the world is quite ready for what Insomniac is about to release. He added that the game is amazing and it is their best game yet.
I just want to take a minute to talk to the amazing audio team at Insomniac – Such an amazing and talented group of humans to work alongside. I’m not sure the world is quite ready for what they’re about to unleash on players – it’s stunning, and in my humble opinion, their best work to date. Good luck getting to the finish line!
That’s exactly what Jeremy said, so it’ll be really interesting to see if Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 actually delivers on that. We haven’t seen much of the game yet, but there’s no doubt that it won’t have a problem distinguishing itself from its predecessor with its darker tone, new gameplay features, dual-play hero system, new Brooklyn and Queens maps, and more. With the game so close to release, we’ll likely hear more. It will be announced very soon and we will get a better look at the new special attacks, whether electric attacks or those that rely on the symbiote mentioned in the game’s ESRB rating.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 worldwide on October 20.
