Jakarta –
Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan convey a comparison of the fulfillment of vaccine targets between DKI Jakarta and other regions. But Anies said the vaccines in Jakarta cannot be used outside Jakarta.
“The problem is that we are not allowed to enter those that are not in the DKI area and we coordinate and do other things. In fact, we think this is an important challenge to make a structural work so that in an area there is a mechanism for working together,” said Anies Baswedan during the Second National Congress of KA KAMMI which was broadcast virtually, Saturday (28/8/2021).
Data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government states, there are 9,554,298 residents in DKI who have received the first dose of Corona vaccine and 5,317,949 people who received the second dose. On the corona.jakarta.go.id website, the total target for vaccination is 8,941,211.
From this data, Anies said the vaccination target in Jakarta had been exceeded or 105 percent. This figure is the result of injections of more than 200 thousand people with the COVID-19 vaccine in Jakarta every day.
“In Jakarta, every day, we can vaccinate more than 200 thousand people per day. Why is that? We have more than 300 health centers, and more than 300 health centers are heating up in a year with this distribution system. So now if you ask Jakarta our vaccination target is already 105 percent achieved is exceeded, while some neighbors are still 15, some are 20 percent,” he said.
Urgency of Urban Problems
Governor Anies Baswedan highlighted the increasingly pressing urban problems. Urban problems will be more dominant than rural problems.
“For us at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, in reality, the big problems faced by many people start from urban areas. In the future, cities will become more dominant,” said Anies.
Anies projects that 70 percent of people will live in cities in the next 30 years, so policies in urban areas will have a big impact.
“In 2009, more Indonesians lived in cities than in villages. It is projected that by 2050, 70 percent of the world’s population will live in urban areas. That’s why the management of decisions in urban areas has a very big impact,” he said.
