Mayor Hanno Benz received important insights into the areas of housing and construction, commercial projects and aspects of inner city development that are crucial for urban development. As part of the so-called elephant round, the mayor discussed the current challenges facing the municipalities with colleagues from Bad Homburg, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Frankfurt and the President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The representatives of the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region spoke about the economic priorities of their cities and shed light on the future direction of the metropolitan region. Mayor Benz emphasized: “It is particularly important for Darmstadt to take advantage of its central location in the dynamic and prosperous Rhine-Main area. The unique character as a science and culture city offers Darmstadt considerable advantages. What is particularly necessary is the involvement of relevant players from research, development, trade and business.”
