NASA has officially concluded the InSight mission that served four years on Mars.
The official statement from NASA stated that on Monday (12/19) the vehicle could not be contacted.
They also concluded that InSight’s solar power had run out.
InSight last communicated with Earth on Thursday (12/15).
The mission landed on Mars on November 26, 2018 and was tasked with studying the internal structure and composition of Mars.
As of December 20, 2022, Insight has spent 1,445 soles on Mars, exceeding its planned mission duration.
