The Lebanese actor Georges Khabbaz described the character of Aziz, which he embodies in the Ramadan series “Fire with Fire”.
In an interview with Sky News Arabia, Khabbaz explained that the entire work carries a humanitarian message and combines a historical and romantic character at the same time.
According to Khabbaz, Aziz has an introverted personality from the neighborhood in which the events of the work take place, which is undergoing a major demographic change due to the Syrian exodus to Lebanon.
The series consists of 30 episodes, and was filmed in a residential neighborhood in the Sed El Bouchrieh area, east of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Khabbaz pointed out that “the character who plays his role in the series constitutes a controversy in itself, as it contains a lot of internal conflicts because of the painful history she lived through.”
And “the story takes place in one lane, and one of its heroes (Aziz) feels the pressure being exerted on him personally. The story itself is bold and discusses the relationship between the Syrian and Lebanese peoples.”
He continued, “I hope that our work will find popularity and a good echo after all this fatigue.”
Khabbaz described the performance of his fellow actors as excellent, saying: “Syrian actress Karis Bashar is a capable and empowered actress.”
He added, “My testimony to the Syrian actor Abed Fahd remains wounded,” referring to the participation of a group of Lebanese actors in the series, including Tony Issa and Zina Makki.
The story of the series revolves around a Syrian schoolteacher who fled her war-torn homeland, only to find herself stranded in Beirut, alone and without identity papers, and must resist reality in order to continue and live in a city she never knew.
