Insiders: ‘Night catering not open early’ | Inland

As of September 25, cafes, restaurants, theater and concert halls can run at full capacity again as long as they ask visitors for a corona pass, proof that someone has been vaccinated, tested negative or has recovered from corona. The pass will not apply to public facilities, such as the counter of a town hall or for access to a hospital.

Last week, Minister De Jonge (Public Health) announced that the cabinet is looking at whether clubs and discotheques can open earlier. That is not the case. The closing time for the catering industry remains midnight for the time being.

On Monday morning, Minister Van Engelshoven (Culture) had raised the expectation on TV that more easing is on the way for the culture sector. That has not been thanked her at the Ministry of Health. “There is really not much left for the cultural sector,” says one person involved.

Multi-day events and festivals will be possible again under certain conditions, although the festival agenda is not that busy in that area.

November 1 is still the target date on which the outgoing cabinet wants to let go of all corona measures, although that date is marked in pencil in the agenda.
