This year, a remake of the third installment in the Metal Gear Solid series from Konami was officially announced for current generation home consoles and PC. Since the announcement of the game, we have not received any new news about the project. However, recently an insider via Reddit shared some information about the game from his sources.

The game has been in development for more than 3 years, the main work on it has been completed, and those who are working on it are now waiting for the release date. The game is a 100% remake of the original version without any changes. Don’t expect any new scenes, new locations, etc., as Konami has clearly asked for the remake to be 100% identical to the original version of the game. No new versions of character motion capture were requested due to the fact that the game’s dialogue is the same as in the original version, without any changes. The cinematic scenes abandoned the idea of a cinematic screen “with black bars at the top and bottom” and the game went full screen. The game is in development on Unreal Engine, most likely in its fourth version.
