‘Smart lamp’ helps the elderly to live at home longer: “Our AI models know when someone falls”
The Belgian company Nobi from Wilrijk installs smart lamps in old people, so that they can live at home longer. The devices detect with a camera or radar when the resident falls and immediately notify a family member, so that they do not have to wait for hours on a cold floor for help. Florke, an 85-year-old lady, had such a lamp installed: “It is mainly for my daughter’s peace of mind that we placed the lamp here,” she says.
