Daneidy barrera Rojas, ‘EPA Colombia,’ Begins Prison Sentence in El Buen Pastor de Bogotá
Daneidy Barrera Rojas, widely known as EPA Colombia, has spent her initial days in El Buen Pastor de Bogotá prison in isolation, choosing to remain in her cell without interacting with fellow inmates or prison staff. According to influencer Isabela Rivera, aka Chabe, who visited Barrera Rojas, the entrepreneur and content creator has been ”very sad and quiet” as her arrival at the facility.
Barrera Rojas was arrested on January 27 by the Technical Research Corps (CTI) while leaving her hairdresser. In a message shared on her social media before being transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office bunker, she expressed her distress: “Oh friend, I am very sad, I came to work in the hairdresser all day and I was going out for my house and The CTI took me.”
Her arrest stems from a Supreme Court of Justice ruling, which sentenced her to five years and two months in prison for her involvement in acts of vandalism during the 2019 national strike. barrera rojas was recorded damaging a Transmilenio station, leading to charges of disturbance of public transport service, instigation to commit crimes for terrorist purposes, and damage to others.
Isabela Rivera revealed that Barrera Rojas has chosen to stay out of the spotlight. “’Epa Colombia’, as he arrived at the pavilion, has been very sad, very quiet and has not wanted to get out of his cell or talk to anyone,” Rivera said. She also noted that the businesswoman “signed a role in which she said: ‘I am not going to give interviews to absolutely anyone, becuase they have called thousands of media.’”
Rivera added that some security guards were “a bit lambones” due to their admiration for Barrera Rojas but emphasized that they could not act on their feelings. Despite the situation, Rivera described barrera Rojas as “tender.”
