But now it is not just the main medical group that is showing criticism. The Bern cantonal section of the auxiliary and senior physician association VSAO also supported clinic directors and chief physicians in a LinkedIn post.
“It is obvious that the conflict is also affecting nursing staff. “ – Manuela Kocher, President of the SBK Bern Division
The VSAO writes and emphasizes: “Respectful treatment must be practiced across all grade levels and consistently reflected on” the request for an independent investigation into the allegations as well as medical representation by voting rights in hospital management, administrative board and faculty management.
It’s not just the VSAO that’s worried, the nursing association SBK Bern is also worried. “It is obvious that the conflict also affects nursing staff,” says Manuela Kocher, president of the SBK Bern division, to Medinside.
Dictatorship and harsh
Kocher confirms that the SBK Bern hears similar things from former island nursing professionals. “We are concerned about developments at Inselspital – and what impact this will have on staff.”
So she asks those in charge to deal constructively with criticism – while pointing out the importance of good communication and a positive management culture.
Both societies ask those affected to come forward – secretly. This offer is actively used at SBK Bern. “Legal advice is an important service to our members. Last year, the SBK Bern advised about 600 people from all areas of care,” said Kocher.
