The Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies INSAIT has created the first open large language model with artificial intelligence of the latest generation. He is designed specifically for the needs of the Bulgarian state, users, public and private organizations. It will be freely used. In its first version, the model was trained on over 3 billion sentences and consists of 7 billion parameters.

“Today’s presentation of the Bulgarian ChatGPT is a very important step not only for scientific applied research in Bulgaria, but also for the development of Bulgarian scientific organizations and Bulgarian education,” said the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov. every school can have its own system related to artificial intelligence and the possibility of personalizing education.
This is a huge opportunity for the development and improvement of the quality of the Bulgarian education system”, pointed out Minister Tsokov. He also emphasized the importance of developing functionalities for schools and universities to recognize materials developed with artificial intelligence.

BgGPT is specially trained for the specifics of the Bulgarian language, which will allow the creation of applications and solutions for the benefit of Bulgarian education, business, healthcare, public administration and others.
With the announcement of BgGPT, INSAIT declares that it is ushering in the a series of open language models for artificial intelligence in Bulgarian, which will be developed in the institute. Unlike other similar platforms (ChatGPT, Bard, Bing and others), BgGPT is not corporate property and will be able to be freely used by Bulgarian public and private organizations. A strategic advantage for Bulgaria’s national security is that the data for creating the model are not shared with foreign corporations, but remain with the state and Bulgarian organizations.
