The leader of the Industrial and Business Party (INP) recommends that the local associations, which receive few representatives, vote blank when the mayors are to be elected.
– There are many of our shop stewards who have not been part of a municipal council before, and need to learn. We have to be there, see and experience who can be trusted and who can’t. Vote on a case-by-case basis, says party leader Owe Ingemann Waltherzøe Telemark newspaper.
– We don’t want to make too many mistakes because we are new.
Waltherzøe emphasizes opposite NRK that the recommendation does not apply in the areas where the party receives a large amount of support. Furthermore, he says that the local teams must decide where the limit for “few” representatives is themselves, but that he recommends voting blankly in matters for which the local teams do not get approval.
INP is doing well in the survey at the moment and ended up well above the threshold with 5.1 percent support in a survey from Sentio on Tuesday. Among other things, the party wants to terminate the EEA agreement, the international Paris climate agreement and to stop all offshore and onshore wind power development in Norway.
