Innovative alternatives to achieve a high potential grain sorghum

Optimizing the quality of the soils, achieving greater sustainability in the processes, reducing weeds and increasing the yield potential of the grain sorghum crop were some of the objectives proposed by Ing. Ag. Martín Liggera, producer and private advisor of the town of Junín, and Julián Siri, Advanta Technology and Development coordinator, on October 16, 2020 when they began a fertilization trial in different service crops in the field ?? El Tatú ??, located in the town of Tres Algarrobos, Province of Buenos Aires.

The use of cover crops allows to control both water and wind erosion, contributes organic matter to the soil, reduces the application of agricultural inputs, lowers the temperature of the soil due to the effect of the cover, contributes nitrogen to the system in the case of including legumes , allows weed control and generates an increase in yield in the medium and long term.
