Have you heard of the three giant concerts organized by Facebook in the metaverse? Unfortunately for Mother Meta house, this was a huge failure. Still, Mark Zuckerberg seemed very confident about the virtual reality concerts in its metaverse. So what happened? We take stock with you.
Free concerts
Mother Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has decided to give internet users a nice gift. Indeed, three giant and free concerts, entirely virtual, were organized last month. For the occasion, we will find an exceptional program, notably with rapper Young Thug on December 26, but also DJ David Guetta on December 31. In addition, the EDM duo The Chainsmokers had responded for a New Year’s Eve concert in 2022.
The headliners were just amazing. And yet, few people have actually heard of these concerts. These have gone completely unnoticed. And yet, these virtual events were free… Only a few employees of the Mother Meta company actually attended these concerts…
A terrible flop
It is surprising how much these three giant free concerts have been shunned by the public. No particular mention was made on social networks. And unfortunately, the technique was not up to expectations because the few public attending these concerts criticized the staging a little light.
We learn that the performance of Young Thug recorded only 100,000 views, while David Guetta has accumulated about 1 million. This is far from sufficient to make these virtual events profitable. It seems that unfortunately, creating a metaverse is not as easy as Mark Zuckerberg hoped … More to come ???
