After returning home, a frequent driver from Aly faces the problem of where to park his car. There is a shortage of places near apartment buildings, so the Alytus city municipality came up with a way to help residents.
It is planned to install parking spaces on the plots of land belonging to the city. Parking lots will be provided at the expense of the municipality, and residents will be able to rent a parking space. The first attempt to solve the city’s parking problems in this way was started on Vingio Street. 27-29 in the accesses of apartment buildings.
Any resident of the city of Alytus will be able to rent a parking space, no matter where they live. It is true that priority will be given to the residents of the surrounding houses. The works on Vingios Street are planned to be finished in May. One parking space will cost 20 euros per month. There will be 47 parking spaces in the pilot parking lot on Vingios street. It will be supervised by the Urban Economy Department of the Alytus City Municipality.
If the pilot project succeeds, another 79-seat parking lot will be built on a plot of land owned by the Alytus City Municipality near Jurgiškių St. 55 home.
