Inner Mongolia achieves 95% progress in grain crop sowing, develops modern agriculture with water-saving techniques

CCTV news:According to Inner Mongolia’s agricultural situation dispatch, as of June 5, Inner Mongolia has sown more than 100 million mu of grain crops, with a progress of 95%, 1.9 percentage points faster than the same period last year. The Hetao Irrigation District in Inner Mongolia vigorously develops modern agriculture and uses water-saving agriculture to create a “granary on top of the plug”.

Recently, Dengkou County, Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia has successively installed 29 measurement and control integrated gates in the Qukou Canal of the Dukou irrigation area under its jurisdiction. These gates are part of the hardware facilities of the pilot project of deep water conservation and water control water rights trading reform in Dengkou County. After the operation of the project, not only can the remote control of the gate be realized, but more importantly, the flow of water intake can be accurately measured to achieve the purpose of scientifically allocating water resources.

This year, the sown area of grain in the Hetao irrigation area is about 6.2 million mu, the economic crops are expected to be about 5.8 million mu, and the total sown area of the irrigation area is about 12 million mu. At present, Bayannaoer city has completed the construction task of 2.32 million mu of high-standard farmland, achieved an average water saving of more than 20 cubic meters per mu, increased cultivated land by about 1.5%, and increased grain production capacity by more than 10%.

It is estimated that in early June, grain sowing in Inner Mongolia will basically end, 3-5 days earlier than last year.
