Sad news came from the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in 1990-2000, KH Ali Yafie. Rais Aam PBNU 1991-1992 died after being treated at the Bintaro Hospital, South Tangerang (Tangsel).
Reporting from the official MUI website, KH Ali Yafie died on Saturday (25/2/2023) at 22.13 WIB. The body will be taken to the funeral home at the Menteng Residence Complex, Jl Menteng V Blok FC 5 No 12, Sector 7 Bintaro Jaya.
It was previously known that Kiai Ali Yafie was being treated at Bintaro Hospital, and was visited by Deputy President KH Ma’ruf Amin. The Vice President said that Kiai Ali Yafie was a role model scholar. “He is a good senior for me,” said the Vice President as quoted from the MUI website.
“I associated with him for a long time and he is a great scholar and has a wide knowledge. Not only religious problems, but also state, national, social problems and I think it is rare that there are scholars of his caliber who have a breadth of knowledge, and also his leadership should be a role model,” he added.
Will be Buried at Tanah Kusir TPU
Reporting from the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) website, the body of the deceased is planned to be buried at Tanah Kusir TPU, on Sunday (26/2/2023) tomorrow, after the noon prayer.
It is known that Kiai Ali Yafie was born in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, on September 1 2023. He died at the age of 96.
Before he died, he was treated at Premier Bintaro Hospital for about two weeks. Apart from being old, he also has respiratory problems. Doctors found fluid in the lungs and spots on the heart, so Kiai Ali Yafie had to undergo intensive treatment using a complete breathing apparatus.
