Inmates of the Cochamarca prison will stage the crucifixion and death of Christ

This Friday, March 26, 85 inmates from the ordinary closed regime of the Cochamarca prison represented the “Holy Week and Commemoration of the Crucifixion and Death of Christ – 2024” organized and directed by the Technical Treatment Body with the support of the areas of work, education, social work, psychology, legal and health of that prison facility.

During the religious interpretation, recycled material was used (bags, sacks, cardboard, plastic bottles, etc.), and above all it was rehearsed for several days with great faith and devotion taking into account that the majority of the prison population professes the Christian religion. .

The head of the Technical Treatment Body of the Cochamarca prison, Isaías Chipana Flores, highlighted the predisposition of the inmates to act for these religious holidays, which contributes to their resocialization process.

The regional director of the Eastern Huánuco Regional Office, Gloria Estrada Tarrillo, who was present, said that this staging leads us to many reflections for Holy Week, in principle to value solidarity like Simon the Cyrenean and that it invites us to forgive.

In this emotional staging, the inmates managed to narrate with their interpretation the last days in the life of Christ.
