The National Migration Institute (INM) reported that 749,657 compatriots were assisted during the 2024 Easter Operation of the Héroes Paisanos program.
It was implemented from March 15 to April 7 of this year in coordination with different agencies and organizations of the three levels of government.
The operation concluded without incident; The compatriots who entered Mexico come mainly from the United States and Canada.
The purpose of the Héroes Paisanos Program is to assist and provide guidance to Mexican people residing abroad who visit national territory temporarily, and that their entry, transit and exit from the country is carried out with respect for their rights and with the safety of their assets, as well as knowledge of their obligations.
It is valid 365 days a year and the operations apply during holiday periods. Of the total number of people served on the occasion of Holy Week, 749,181 were in 225 modules installed in the 32 entities of the country; 450 via telephone, 10 through social networks and 16 via email.
On this occasion, 479 citizen observers participated, who are people from civil society who, among other tasks, have the task of providing information on government procedures and services to which compatriots have access inside and outside of Mexico.
