Sørloth sent his new Spanish club Villarreal into the lead against Cadiz after ten minutes of play, but was substituted just 17 minutes later.
The Norwegian attacker had sat down on the grass and received treatment from the support apparatus. He then had to leave the field.
It could be bad news for Norway’s national team manager Ståle Solbakken. Sørloth is – as usual – in the squad. Next week, Norway will first face Jordan in a private international match, before the European Championship qualifier against Georgia is played on 12 September.
Chris Ramos equalized for the hosts before the Norwegian was replaced. Then Darwin Machis made it 2-1 from the penalty spot before the same man increased the lead for the hosts just after the break.
