A few weeks after 20 November, the starting date of the World Cup in Qatar, the list of confirmed absences due to injury has grown, which pushes the coaches to follow the local leagues and their professional players with only one hope, that is that the the list will be no longer than it already is.
With the high number of players absent from the World Cup, only a few teams have escaped the curse of injuries that haunt Brazil and Portugal, through England and Argentina, and even the current reigning champion of France, and new names could be added. to the list as there are a large number of players racing against time to reach the World Cup.
Against this backdrop, France and Manchester United defense center Raphael Varane suffered an injury that could put an end to his hopes of participation.
Varane appeared in the second half of his team’s match against Chelsea in the English Premier League, as if he had twisted his knee, when he tried to cut a through ball, and was left on the ground, before being treated, then he was up and his tears fell, which warns of the severity of the injury, which comes weeks before the World Cup finals.
For its part, Juventus said in a statement that their midfielder, the Argentine Leandro Paredes, felt some pain after Friday’s Empoli match.
He added that the tango star suffers from thigh fatigue, which will lead him to be absent for at least 15 days, raising doubts about his presence with his country at the World Cup in Qatar.
But Sky Sport Italia stressed that Paredes’ injury is not serious, indicating that he could be available for his country about two weeks before the World Cup.
And the string of injuries continued as Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus confirmed he will miss the German national team during the World Cup in Qatar, as expected.
Newhouse appeared on the “Sky” network and said: “The World Cup is around the corner, unfortunately time will not help me and for me the priority now is that my knee recover completely”.
Florian Neuhaus sustained a cruciate ligament injury in his knee last September, and recently returned to training individually, and indicated that it was already clear to him some time ago that he would not recover before the World Cup.
