Injured Federer slips lower in ATP rankings, Sinner reaches career peak

Former world number one in men’s tennis, Roger Federer, lost four more places in the latest ATP ranking on Monday to 15th after leaving the top 10 last week. The 40-year-old Swiss suffered a right knee injury and has not played since a humiliating quarter-final loss to Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz at Wimbledon on July 7. As Federer falls, there is a career high. ranking 11 for the Italian Jannik Sinner, who climbs two places thanks to his success in Antwerp on Sunday which was his fourth title of the season.

Indian Wells champion Cameron Norrie also reached the career-high ranking, with the Briton advancing two more places to 14.

Novak Djokovic leads the standings far ahead of Russian Daniil Medvedev.
