There has been a shooting incident near the Vroesenpark in Rotterdam-Blijdorp. Two men were injured and taken to hospital.
The police have arrested two suspects. One of them was still trying to flee from the police. He was arrested after officers fired warning shots.
Park cleared
Earlier in the evening, the Rotterdam police had evacuated the Vroesenpark. It was too busy and local residents had complained about nuisance.
People were barbecuing and drinking in the park and a brawl started here and there, police say to regional broadcaster Rijnmond. According to a reporter from the broadcaster, a lot of laughing gas was used and sold.
The police asked those present to leave the park with a sound car. That went without problems, according to Rijnmond.
