Someone was injured in a fire in a house on Postjeskade in West this afternoon. It was probably a resident of the house.

The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. According to a fire department spokesperson, it was a spreading fire that was visible at the back of the house. Several local residents therefore called 112 and the fire brigade turned up with several fire trucks.
The victim had inhaled too much smoke and was therefore taken to hospital by ambulance. The fire was brought under control quickly, the spokesman said. Firefighting work is still taking place.
Local residents had to leave their homes as a precaution. The fire brigade will still take measurements to see whether there is not too much carbon monoxide or smoke in their homes, but they can then go back inside.
