With the Schwarzwalder Geiwochen, restaurants and initiatives in the region want to advertise meat from young goats. Because male kids are usually slaughtered after a few months.
Kid meat is rarely on the menus in the region’s restaurants and grok’s. That should change. With the Schwarzwalder Geiwochen from June 3rd to 19th, ten participating restaurants in the Black Forest and three canteens in Freiburg want to bring the meat from the young organic goats closer to the consumers. This campaign is a joint project of the Freiburg organic model region, the Bio-Lmmer project and Slow Food Freiburg. The project presentation took place in the Colombi Hotel in Freiburg.
