Martínez has only made the second move of his career, and the first one was very controversial, as he moved to Athletic in January 2018 from rival Real Sociedad. He made over 350 starts for Basque clubs in the Spanish top flight and scored 22 goals. He also has twenty starts for the Spanish national team, but he didn’t play much during the past year, due to muscle problems.
Barcelona is currently announcing the second reinforcement for the new season, Ilkay Gündogan became the first a few days ago.
