Ings hits goal – Watford in trouble

Watford-Southampton 1-3

Southampton is the Premier League’s worst home team. On the road, things have fared better. On Sunday, Danny Ings scored two of the goals when Watford was beaten 3-1.

Ings now stands with 18 points in the Premier League this season – similar to Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The scoring against Watford was a typical Ings goal. He made room outside the 16-yard line and sent a hard ball into the corner behind Watford keeper Ben Foster.

Ings was on his way again after 69 minutes making it 2-0. A goal by Jan Bednarek created a 2-1 lead after 79 minutes, but a magnificent free kick by James Ward-Prowse almost resulted in the victory for Southampton.

Watford is one point above the relegation zone and has problems both on and off the field.

Trio Andre Gray, Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina were left out of the squad after photos emerged from a private party at Gray. Watford states that the players were dropped to safeguard the other players’ health and safety.
